Starting in 2008 the organizers of the Sun City Swim - In Motion Africa - identified areas where they could make a difference in the community. A total of R99 700 has been distributed amongst the following beneficiaries:
Little Eden Society Embracing the values of Respect, Sanctity of Life, Love and Care Little Eden is a registered non profit organisation providing life long care to children with profound intellectual disability in two custom designed facilities geared to helping them reach their full potential.
Gauteng Lifesaving and Water Safety Association which is a voluntary organisation present at many open water swims. The association, with the assistance of In Motion Africa, recently established a Lifesaving Academy. The Academy was created to provide instruction and assessment for individuals requiring an employable lifesaving qualification. The academy has also taken over the Caregivers Water Safety Awareness courses which were initiated by the late Ross Lawson, a founding member of In Motion Africa. These courses are aimed at reducing the number of drownings in residential swimming pools and around water in the home environment.
Gauteng Masters Swimming Clubs whose members promote the motto of "fun fitness and friendship" among adults via both pool and open water events.
More recently the Kidney Beanz Trust has become a beneficiary. This legally registered Trust supports children with severe kidney disease who attend the Morningside Children's Kidney Treatment Centre.
